Measurement of the Correlation between Nuclear Alignment and Electron Direction in B12 Decay as a Direct Search for the Second-Class Axial-Vector Current
The alignment correlation term Aα-EP2(cosθ) has been measured in the β- decay B12 → C12(g.s.) by a novel technique. The result, α-(E0)=-(0.1±0.2)GeV, indicates that the conserved vector current weak-magnetism form factor, FM, is essentially compensated here by the weak electricity (induced tensor) f...

Measurement of the Correlation between Nuclear Alignment and Electron Direction in B12 Decay as a Direct Search for the Second-Class Axial-Vector Current |
abstract |
The alignment correlation term Aα-EP2(cosθ) has been measured in the β- decay B12 → C12(g.s.) by a novel technique. The result, α-(E0)=-(0.1±0.2)GeV, indicates that the conserved vector current weak-magnetism form factor, FM, is essentially compensated here by the weak electricity (induced tensor) form factor FE. Using the decomposition of FE=FE(1)+FE(2) into first- and second-class parts, as well as a reliable estimate of FE(1), we conclude that FE(2) is small compared to FM, and compatible with zero. |

The result, α-(E0)=-(0.1±0.2)GeV, indicates that the conserved vector current weak-magnetism form factor, FM, is essentially compensated here by the weak electricity (induced tensor) form factor FE. Using the decomposition of FE=FE(1)+FE(2) into first- and second-class parts, as well as a reliable estimate of FE(1), we conclude that FE(2) is small compared to FM, and compatible with zero.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="533" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="f">APS Digital Backfile Archive 1893-2003</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Lebrun, P.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Deschepper, Ph.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Grenacs, L.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Lehmann, J.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Leroy, C.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Palffy, L.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Possoz, A.</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Enthalten in</subfield><subfield code="t">Physical review letters</subfield><subfield code="d">College Park, Md. : APS, 1958</subfield><subfield code="g">40(1978), 5, Seite 302-305</subfield><subfield code="h">Online-Ressource</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-627)NLEJ248237888</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-600)1472655-5</subfield><subfield code="x">1079-7114</subfield><subfield code="7">nnns</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="1" ind2="8"><subfield code="g">volume:40</subfield><subfield code="g">year:1978</subfield><subfield code="g">number:5</subfield><subfield code="g">pages:302-305</subfield><subfield code="g">extent:4</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="u">https://www.tib.eu/de/suchen/id/aps%3A61c1dac83014273f9af0e303392ebd67c4ce1718</subfield><subfield code="x">Verlag</subfield><subfield code="z">Deutschlandweit zugänglich</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_USEFLAG_U</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ZDB-1-APS</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_NL_ARTICLE</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="951" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">AR</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="952" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="d">40</subfield><subfield code="j">1978</subfield><subfield code="e">5</subfield><subfield code="h">302-305</subfield><subfield code="g">4</subfield></datafield></record></collection>
