Multi-Hop Broadcasting in VANET for Safety Applications : Review and Classification of Protocols
Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), which rely on vehicular ad hoc communication networks (VANETs), have the potential to alleviate road accidents and to save lives. Several use cases to VANETs safety applications have been proposed. Most of these applications use multi-hop broadcasting commun...

Multi-Hop Broadcasting in VANET for Safety Applications Review and Classification of Protocols |
abstract |
Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), which rely on vehicular ad hoc communication networks (VANETs), have the potential to alleviate road accidents and to save lives. Several use cases to VANETs safety applications have been proposed. Most of these applications use multi-hop broadcasting communications to disseminate safety information as far as needed in zones of relevance. A wide variety of multi-hop broadcasting approaches have been proposed in recent years. In this paper the authors review, characterize and categorize multi-hop broadcast protocols. A set of classification criteria is proposed to highlight the design principles and performance of broadcasting protocols |

A set of classification criteria is proposed to highlight the design principles and performance of broadcasting protocols</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Broadcasting</subfield><subfield code="a">Multi-Hop</subfield><subfield code="a">Safety Applications</subfield><subfield code="a">Vehicular Ad Hoc Communication Networks (VANETs)</subfield><subfield code="a">Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Mammeri, Zoubir</subfield><subfield code="e">verfasserin</subfield><subfield code="4">aut</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Enthalten in</subfield><subfield code="t">International journal of business data communications and networking</subfield><subfield code="d">Hershey, Pa : IGI Global, 2005</subfield><subfield code="g">9(2013), 4, Seite 86-104</subfield><subfield code="h">Online-Ressource</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-627)NLEJ244418691</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-600)2400953-2</subfield><subfield code="x">1548-064X</subfield><subfield code="7">nnns</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="1" ind2="8"><subfield code="g">volume:9</subfield><subfield code="g">year:2013</subfield><subfield code="g">number:4</subfield><subfield code="g">pages:86-104</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="u">http://services.igi-global.com/resolvedoi/resolve.aspx?doi=10.4018/ijbdcn.2013100105</subfield><subfield code="m">X:IGIG</subfield><subfield code="x">Verlag</subfield><subfield code="z">Deutschlandweit zugänglich</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="2"><subfield code="u">http://services.igi-global.com/resolvedoi/resolve.aspx?doi=10.4018/ijbdcn.2013100105&buylink=true</subfield><subfield code="3">Abstract</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ZDB-1-GIS</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_NL_ARTICLE</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="951" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">AR</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="952" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="d">9</subfield><subfield code="j">2013</subfield><subfield code="e">4</subfield><subfield code="h">86-104</subfield></datafield></record></collection>
