The rhombohedral-rhombohedral transition in PbZrxTi1-xO3 is found to be of first order. Calculations are given of the tilt angle of the oxygen octahedra about [111] together with the octahedron strain. Coupling between these two quantities is found to account for the nature of the phase transition....
