520 | |a To quantify and describe the population starting treatment with baclofen for alcohol dependence during the period 2007-2013 in France. The French national health insurance (système national d'information inter-régimes de l'Assurance maladie [SNIIRAM]) and French hospital discharge (programme de médicalisation des systèmes d'information [PMSI]) databases were used to identify the population starting treatment with baclofen, determine the algorithm of baclofen use, define patient characteristics and their treatment. About 200,000 subjects initiated baclofen therapy between 2007 and 2013, for alcohol dependence in 52.0% of cases. In 2013, this population was predominantly male (62.3%), with a mean age of 50.1 years, the first prescriber was a general practitioner in 58.9% of cases, they continued their treatment 6 months after their initiation in 48.8% of cases and one half of these subjects consumed at least 57.0 mg of baclofen daily. The use of baclofen for alcohol dependence increased considerably since 2008, with more than 34,000 new users and more than 9,000 general practitioners as first prescribers in 2013. | ||

The use of baclofen for alcohol dependence increased considerably since 2008, with more than 34,000 new users and more than 9,000 general practitioners as first prescribers in 2013.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="540" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Nutzungsrecht: © 2015 Société Française de Pharmacologie et de Thérapeutique.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Practice Patterns, Physicians' - statistics & numerical data</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Nervous System Diseases - drug therapy</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">National Health Programs - statistics & numerical data</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Patient Discharge - statistics & numerical data</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Alcohol Deterrents - therapeutic use</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Baclofen - therapeutic use</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Drug Prescriptions - statistics & numerical data</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Alcoholism - drug therapy</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Weill, Alain</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Ricordeau, Philippe</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Alla, François</subfield><subfield code="4">oth</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Enthalten in</subfield><subfield code="t">Thérapie</subfield><subfield code="d">Issy-les-Moulineaux : Elsevier, 1946</subfield><subfield code="g">70(2015), 5, Seite 443</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-627)130397423</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-600)603474-3</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-576)015900436</subfield><subfield code="x">0040-5957</subfield><subfield code="7">nnns</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="1" ind2="8"><subfield code="g">volume:70</subfield><subfield code="g">year:2015</subfield><subfield code="g">number:5</subfield><subfield code="g">pages:443</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="2"><subfield code="u">http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26423143</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_USEFLAG_A</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">SYSFLAG_A</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_OLC</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">SSG-OLC-FRK</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">SSG-OLC-ROK</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">SSG-OLC-PHA</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">SSG-OLC-DE-84</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_ILN_4012</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_ILN_4219</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="951" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">AR</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="952" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="d">70</subfield><subfield code="j">2015</subfield><subfield code="e">5</subfield><subfield code="h">443</subfield></datafield></record></collection>

Use in France of Baclofen for Alcohol Dependence from 2007 to 2013: Cohort Study Based on the Databases SNIIRAM and PMSI |
abstract |
To quantify and describe the population starting treatment with baclofen for alcohol dependence during the period 2007-2013 in France. |
