Abstract A new method is proposed for determining the coefficient of elliptic anisotropy of jets in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions. This method, which does not involve directly reconstructing the reaction plane, is a generalization of the method used in current experiments to measure the coefficient of elliptic anisotropy of particle fluxes.
