520 | |a Abstract Novel video-processing software has been developed for the sessile drop technique for a rapid and quantitative estimation of slag foaming. The data processing was carried out in two stages: the first stage involved the initial transformation of digital video/audio signals into a format compatible with computing software, and the second stage involved the computation of slag droplet volume and area of contact in a chosen video frame. Experimental results are presented on slag foaming from synthetic graphite/slag system at 1550 °C. This technique can be used for determining the extent and stability of foam as a function of time. | ||

Novel Sessile Drop Software for Quantitative Estimation of Slag Foaming in Carbon/Slag Interactions |
abstract |
Abstract Novel video-processing software has been developed for the sessile drop technique for a rapid and quantitative estimation of slag foaming. © THE MINERALS, METALS & MATERIALS SOCIETY and ASM INTERNATIONAL 2007 |
