Abstract Let $$ be a locally compact semigroup, ω be a weight function on $$, and Ma($$, ω) be the weighted semigroup algebra of $$. Let L0∞ ($$; Ma($$, ω)) be the C*-algebra of all Ma($$, ω)-measurable functions g on $$ such that g/ω vanishes at infinity. We introduce and study a strict topology β1($$, ω) on Ma($$, ω) and show that the Banach space L0∞ ($$; Ma($$, ω)) can be identified with the dual of Ma($$, ω) endowed with β1($$, ω).
