Stationary Relativistic Magnetic Jets from Black Holes |
abstract |
Abstract We investigate the jet formation region of relativistic magnetic jetsusing stationary axisymmetric MHD models. We numerically calculate the field structure of the collimating jetand the flow acceleration. Special or general relativistic effects areconsidered. Stationarity allows for a global treatment of the jetphysics. Our results are applicable to highly relativistic jets of AGNand microquasars. © Kluwer Academic Publishers 2001 |
