A precise measurement of the $\tau$ polarisation at LEP-1
Abstract. The $\tau$ polarisation has been studied with the ${\rm e^+e^-}\to \tau^+\tau^-$ data collected by the DELPHI detector at LEP in 1993, 1994 and 1995 around the Z resonance firstly through the exclusive decay channels ${\rm e}\nu\bar{\nu}$, $\mu\nu\bar{\nu}$, $\pi\nu$, $\rho\nu$ and ${\rm a...

520 | |a Abstract. The $\tau$ polarisation has been studied with the ${\rm e^+e^-}\to \tau^+\tau^-$ data collected by the DELPHI detector at LEP in 1993, 1994 and 1995 around the Z resonance firstly through the exclusive decay channels ${\rm e}\nu\bar{\nu}$, $\mu\nu\bar{\nu}$, $\pi\nu$, $\rho\nu$ and ${\rm a}_1\nu$ and secondly with an inclusive hadronic analysis which benefits from a higher efficiency and a better systematic precision. The results have been combined with those previously published on 1990 to 1992 DELPHI data, to produce results which reflect the full LEP-1 statistics. The fit of the $\tau$ polarisation dependence on the production angle yielded the polarisation parameters ${\cal A}_{_{\scriptstyle \!\tau}}=0.1359 \pm 0.0096$ and ${\cal A}_{_{\scriptstyle \!e}}=0.1382 \pm 0.0116$. From these results the ratio of the vector and axial-vector effective couplings $\bar{v}_{\tau} / \bar{a}_{\tau} = 0.0683\pm0.0048$ and $\bar{v}_{\rm e} / \bar{a}_{\rm e} = 0.0694\pm0.0058$ have been derived, compatible with e$-\tau$ universality. With the assumption of lepton universality, the ratio of vector to axial-vector effective couplings for leptons $\bar{v}_l / \bar{a}_l = 0.0687\pm0.0037$ was obtained, implying a value of the effective weak mixing angle $\sin^{2}\theta^{\rm lept}_{\rm eff} = 0.23282\pm0.00092$. | ||

abstract |
Abstract. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2000 |

With the assumption of lepton universality, the ratio of vector to axial-vector effective couplings for leptons $\bar{v}_l / \bar{a}_l = 0.0687\pm0.0037$ was obtained, implying a value of the effective weak mixing angle $\sin^{2}\theta^{\rm lept}_{\rm eff} = 0.23282\pm0.00092$.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Precise Measurement</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Decay Channel</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Polarisation Parameter</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Polarisation Dependence</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Production Angle</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Enthalten in</subfield><subfield code="t">The European physical journal / C</subfield><subfield code="d">Springer-Verlag, 1998</subfield><subfield code="g">14(2000), 4 vom: Juni, Seite 585-611</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-627)235469777</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-600)1397769-6</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-576)061879150</subfield><subfield code="x">1434-6044</subfield><subfield code="7">nnns</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="1" ind2="8"><subfield code="g">volume:14</subfield><subfield code="g">year:2000</subfield><subfield code="g">number:4</subfield><subfield code="g">month:06</subfield><subfield code="g">pages:585-611</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="1"><subfield code="u">https://doi.org/10.1007/s100520000363</subfield><subfield code="z">lizenzpflichtig</subfield><subfield code="3">Volltext</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_USEFLAG_A</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">SYSFLAG_A</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_OLC</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">SSG-OLC-PHY</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_ILN_11</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_ILN_20</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_ILN_21</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_ILN_22</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_ILN_30</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_ILN_32</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_ILN_40</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_ILN_62</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_ILN_70</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_ILN_130</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_ILN_267</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_ILN_2006</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_ILN_2018</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_ILN_2409</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_ILN_4029</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_ILN_4082</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_ILN_4277</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_ILN_4306</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_ILN_4310</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="951" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">AR</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="952" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="d">14</subfield><subfield code="j">2000</subfield><subfield code="e">4</subfield><subfield code="c">06</subfield><subfield code="h">585-611</subfield></datafield></record></collection>
