Critical probabilities and determinism in decision theory
Abstract The concept of critical probability in a Bayesian decision problem, which was introduced in a previous study, is generalized to any subset of the set of events. Some properties of the set of critical probabilities are discussed for decision problems with any number of events and actions. Th...

Critical probabilities and determinism in decision theory |
abstract |
Abstract The concept of critical probability in a Bayesian decision problem, which was introduced in a previous study, is generalized to any subset of the set of events. Some properties of the set of critical probabilities are discussed for decision problems with any number of events and actions. The philosophical meaning of the «deterministic set» defined by the critical probabilities is discussed shortly. The existence of a deterministic set appears to offer some corroboration to the Bayesian point of view in decision theory, as is seen by disenssing some simple examples taken from experience. © INAC 1966 |

Some properties of the set of critical probabilities are discussed for decision problems with any number of events and actions. The philosophical meaning of the «deterministic set» defined by the critical probabilities is discussed shortly. The existence of a deterministic set appears to offer some corroboration to the Bayesian point of view in decision theory, as is seen by disenssing some simple examples taken from experience.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Decision Problem</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Decision Theory</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Decision Procedure</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Critical Probability</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Utility Matrix</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Enthalten in</subfield><subfield code="t">Calcolo</subfield><subfield code="d">Springer-Verlag, 1964</subfield><subfield code="g">2(1966), 2 vom: Juni, Seite 117-130</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-627)129456330</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-600)199549-2</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-576)014819511</subfield><subfield code="x">0008-0624</subfield><subfield code="7">nnns</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="1" ind2="8"><subfield code="g">volume:2</subfield><subfield code="g">year:1966</subfield><subfield code="g">number:2</subfield><subfield code="g">month:06</subfield><subfield code="g">pages:117-130</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="1"><subfield code="u">https://doi.org/10.1007/BF02575688</subfield><subfield code="z">lizenzpflichtig</subfield><subfield code="3">Volltext</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_USEFLAG_A</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">SYSFLAG_A</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_OLC</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">SSG-OLC-MAT</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">SSG-OPC-MAT</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_ILN_40</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_ILN_70</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_ILN_2004</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_ILN_2088</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_ILN_4046</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_ILN_4306</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_ILN_4307</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="951" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">AR</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="952" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="d">2</subfield><subfield code="j">1966</subfield><subfield code="e">2</subfield><subfield code="c">06</subfield><subfield code="h">117-130</subfield></datafield></record></collection>
