Abstract The basic design of the PIR pulsed x-ray systems developed at the Institute of Hydrodynamics, of the Siberian Division of the Russian Academy of Sciences is described and their parameters are compared with those of the well-known Hewlett-Packard and Scanditronics devices. Some methods of increasing the resolution of radiography using the great spectral width of radiation of the PIR pulsed devices are described. An example of extraction of the density distribution in several sections of a cavitating liquid utilizing simple methods of computer processing of images is given. © Plenum Publishing Corporation 1998 |

Some methods of increasing the resolution of radiography using the great spectral width of radiation of the PIR pulsed devices are described. An example of extraction of the density distribution in several sections of a cavitating liquid utilizing simple methods of computer processing of images is given.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Shock Tube</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Cold Cathode</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Secondary Circuit</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Secondary Winding</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Pulse Transformer</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Pal’chikov, E.
