It is critical for red cell deformability and stability, and it is also involved in the cellular localization of several proteins, in cell differentiation, and in neuron activity. Therefore, its nature is of great interest, and recently, several researchers have had varying degrees of success in elucidating the structural basis of ankyrin–spectrin recognition. In this short paper, we briefly summarize the data obtained and compare the resulting conclusions.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Spectrin</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Ankyrin</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Membrane skeleton</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Protein structure</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Protein–protein interactions</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Sikorski, Aleksander F.</subfield><subfield code="4">aut</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Enthalten in</subfield><subfield code="t">Cellular and molecular life sciences</subfield><subfield code="d">Cham (ZG) : Springer International Publishing AG, 1997</subfield><subfield code="g">67(2010), 16 vom: 22. Do we already know how spectrin attracts ankyrin? |
abstract |
Abstract The interaction of ankyrin and spectrin yields the major anchor between the membrane skeleton and the lipid bilayer. In this short paper, we briefly summarize the data obtained and compare the resulting conclusions. © Springer Basel AG 2010 |
