As individual preferences may change from one time point to another, we propose extending the basic log-linear Bradley–Terry model by incorporating a Markovian structure with temporal within-comparison dependence parameters and parameters indicating the amount of change of the unknown preference parameters of the objects. abstract |
Abstract This article suggests a new approach for modelling longitudinal paired comparison data. As individual preferences may change from one time point to another, we propose extending the basic log-linear Bradley–Terry model by incorporating a Markovian structure with temporal within-comparison dependence parameters and parameters indicating the amount of change of the unknown preference parameters of the objects. We illustrate this approach by analysing a student survey relating to statistics course design with three time points. |

As individual preferences may change from one time point to another, we propose extending the basic log-linear Bradley–Terry model by incorporating a Markovian structure with temporal within-comparison dependence parameters and parameters indicating the amount of change of the unknown preference parameters of the objects. We illustrate this approach by analysing a student survey relating to statistics course design with three time points.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Bradley–Terry model</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Log-linear model</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Longitudinal paired comparison data</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Markov chain</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Temporal change of preference parameters</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Missing data</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Dittrich, Regina</subfield><subfield code="e">verfasserin</subfield><subfield code="4">aut</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Francis, Brian</subfield><subfield code="e">verfasserin</subfield><subfield code="4">aut</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Enthalten in</subfield><subfield code="t">Allgemeines statistisches Archiv</subfield><subfield code="d">Berlin : Springer, 1891</subfield><subfield code="g">99(2014), 2 vom: 21.
