The composites were gamma-irradiated at various doses up to 150 kGy. Selected physical, mechanical, and thermal parameters were investigated as functions of radiation dose and filler content. Gamma irradiation led to a significant improvement in the properties for all composites irradiated with 150 kGy. Similarly, the increase in feldspar content provided substantial improvement in properties as a result of development in the interfacial adhesion between the filler particles and composite components. The results were confirmed by examining the fracture surfaces using scanning electron microscopic techniques. | ||

The composites were gamma-irradiated at various doses up to 150 kGy. Selected physical, mechanical, and thermal parameters were investigated as functions of radiation dose and filler content. Gamma irradiation led to a significant improvement in the properties for all composites irradiated with 150 kGy. Similarly, the increase in feldspar content provided substantial improvement in properties as a result of development in the interfacial adhesion between the filler particles and composite components. The results were confirmed by examining the fracture surfaces using scanning electron microscopic techniques. The composites were gamma-irradiated at various doses up to 150 kGy. Selected physical, mechanical, and thermal parameters were investigated as functions of radiation dose and filler content. Gamma irradiation led to a significant improvement in the properties for all composites irradiated with 150 kGy. Similarly, the increase in feldspar content provided substantial improvement in properties as a result of development in the interfacial adhesion between the filler particles and composite components. The results were confirmed by examining the fracture surfaces using scanning electron microscopic techniques. |

The composites were gamma-irradiated at various doses up to 150 kGy. Selected physical, mechanical, and thermal parameters were investigated as functions of radiation dose and filler content. Gamma irradiation led to a significant improvement in the properties for all composites irradiated with 150 kGy. Similarly, the increase in feldspar content provided substantial improvement in properties as a result of development in the interfacial adhesion between the filler particles and composite components.
