520 | |a Abstract Solanumxanthocarpum has several pharmacological functions like anthelmintic, wound healing, antipyretic, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antitumor, antimicrobial and anthi-asthmatic activities. Total polyphenol content and mineral composition of the root, stem, leaf and fruits of S. xanthocarpum were investigated. Ethanolic fruit extract exhibited the highest phenolic content (16.72 ± 1.0 g/100 g DW) whereas, stem showed lowest amount of phenolic content (0.66 ± 0.3 g/100 g DW) in same solvent. Among 14 elements examined, phosphorus, magnesium, sulphur, ferrous, copper and manganese were relatively higher in leaves than other organs of S. xanthocarpum. The findings of present study might be used for the selection and formulation of plant-based mineral supplement in animal and human nutrition. | ||

The findings of present study might be used for the selection and formulation of plant-based mineral supplement in animal and human nutrition.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Minerals</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Potassium</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Total polyphenol content</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Salunkhe, Nilima B.</subfield><subfield code="e">verfasserin</subfield><subfield code="4">aut</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Aparadh, Vishal T.</subfield><subfield code="e">verfasserin</subfield><subfield code="4">aut</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Kadam, Dilip A.</subfield><subfield code="e">verfasserin</subfield><subfield code="4">aut</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Chavan, Jaykumar J.</subfield><subfield code="e">verfasserin</subfield><subfield code="4">aut</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Enthalten in</subfield><subfield code="t">National Academy science letters</subfield><subfield code="d">[New Delhi] : Springer India, 2012</subfield><subfield code="g">37(2014), 2 vom: 13. Discrepancy in Polyphenol Content and Mineral Composition from Various Organs of Solanumxanthocarpum Schrad & Wendl |
abstract |
Abstract Solanumxanthocarpum has several pharmacological functions like anthelmintic, wound healing, antipyretic, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antitumor, antimicrobial and anthi-asthmatic activities. |
