The effect of intensity of the preexposed stimulus on subsequent conditioning
Abstract The intensity of a tone presented 60 trials prior to conditioning with a latent inhibition procedure in a conditional emotional response paradigm was either 60, 90, or 120 dB. The tone either remained constant or was shifted between preexposure and conditioning. No effect of intensity was f...

Abstract The intensity of a tone presented 60 trials prior to conditioning with a latent inhibition procedure in a conditional emotional response paradigm was either 60, 90, or 120 dB. The tone either remained constant or was shifted between preexposure and conditioning. No effect of intensity was found when intensity remained constant, and a shift in intensity between 60 and 90 dB did not produce significant differences. A shift from a 60-dB tone during preexposure to a 120-dB tone in conditioning resulted in significantly better conditioning than a constant 60-dB intensity tone. Implications of these results for “generalization” of a nonreinforced stimulus were discussed. © The Psychonomic Society, Inc. 1976 |

Implications of these results for “generalization” of a nonreinforced stimulus were discussed.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Stimulus Intensity</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Latent Inhibition</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Generalization Decrement</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Good Conditioning</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Stimulus Preexposure</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Enthalten in</subfield><subfield code="t">Bulletin of the Psychonomic Society</subfield><subfield code="d">Springer-Verlag, 1973</subfield><subfield code="g">7(1976), 4 vom: Apr., Seite 381-383</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-627)SPR037022717</subfield><subfield code="7">nnns</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="1" ind2="8"><subfield code="g">volume:7</subfield><subfield code="g">year:1976</subfield><subfield code="g">number:4</subfield><subfield code="g">month:04</subfield><subfield code="g">pages:381-383</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="u">https://dx.doi.org/10.3758/BF03337222</subfield><subfield code="z">lizenzpflichtig</subfield><subfield code="3">Volltext</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_USEFLAG_A</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">SYSFLAG_A</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_SPRINGER</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="951" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">AR</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="952" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="d">7</subfield><subfield code="j">1976</subfield><subfield code="e">4</subfield><subfield code="c">04</subfield><subfield code="h">381-383</subfield></datafield></record></collection>
