Abstract This investigation sought to determine if a relationship between rate of pubertal development and cognitive styles, previously observed in early adolescents, holds over time. In contrast to reports that early and late maturers, as early adolescents, have different patterns of cognitive abilities, two studies failed to confirm a relationship between maturation rate, indexed by age at menarche, and (1) spatial ability, (2) verbal fluency, or (3) relative degree of spatial versus verbal fluency in late-adolescent women. The results suggest a developmental instability of maturation-rate/cognition relationships, at least among females. © The psychonomic Society, Inc. 1984 |

The results suggest a developmental instability of maturation-rate/cognition relationships, at least among females.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Verbal Fluency</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Cognitive Style</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Spatial Ability</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Verbal Ability</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Late Maturer</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Koff, Elissa</subfield><subfield code="4">aut</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Enthalten in</subfield><subfield code="t">Bulletin of the Psychonomic Society</subfield><subfield code="d">Springer-Verlag, 1973</subfield><subfield code="g">22(1984), 3 vom: Sept., Seite 174-176</subfield><subfield code="w">(DE-627)SPR037022717</subfield><subfield code="7">nnns</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="1" ind2="8"><subfield code="g">volume:22</subfield><subfield code="g">year:1984</subfield><subfield code="g">number:3</subfield><subfield code="g">month:09</subfield><subfield code="g">pages:174-176</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="u">https://dx.doi.org/10.3758/BF03333796</subfield><subfield code="z">lizenzpflichtig</subfield><subfield code="3">Volltext</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_USEFLAG_A</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">SYSFLAG_A</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">GBV_SPRINGER</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="951" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">AR</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="952" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="d">22</subfield><subfield code="j">1984</subfield><subfield code="e">3</subfield><subfield code="c">09</subfield><subfield code="h">174-176</subfield></datafield></record></collection>
