The calculations are carried outa) with the use of antisymmetrized plane waves for the two neutrons, andb) in the closure approximation. The ratio of the odd to even parity cross-sections is about a factor of two in either approximation. The total cross-section for odd parity in the plane wave approximation is found to be about 4 mb at a $ K^{−} $ laboratory momentum of 136 MeV/c. | ||

The total cross-section for the reaction is calculated in the impulse approximation, and expressed in terms of the corresponding hydrogen cross-section for both even and odd parity. The calculations are carried outa) with the use of antisymmetrized plane waves for the two neutrons, andb) in the closure approximation. The ratio of the odd to even parity cross-sections is about a factor of two in either approximation. The total cross-section for odd parity in the plane wave approximation is found to be about 4 mb at a $ K^{−} $ laboratory momentum of 136 MeV/c. Snow, G.
