The proposed design employs two pairs of cylindrical, varifocal lenses, for producing images with zero throw. We identify the required optical powers, as functions of the two tunable, independent lateral magnifications. Since the elements of the device have fixed inter-lens separations, then the proposed device does not require mechanical compensation. | ||

This extension is used for proposing a Gaussian system that purposely introduces different magnifications, along two perpendicular directions. The proposed design employs two pairs of cylindrical, varifocal lenses, for producing images with zero throw. We identify the required optical powers, as functions of the two tunable, independent lateral magnifications. Since the elements of the device have fixed inter-lens separations, then the proposed device does not require mechanical compensation. This extension is used for proposing a Gaussian system that purposely introduces different magnifications, along two perpendicular directions. The proposed design employs two pairs of cylindrical, varifocal lenses, for producing images with zero throw. We identify the required optical powers, as functions of the two tunable, independent lateral magnifications.
