This program, created in September 2010, aims to train high-level teachers, researchers, and professionals in this field. Among the activities of the PPGEB, innovation and expansion of professional and academic competencies are key to scientific, technological, and social advances. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted with data related to the PPGEB for 2010–2018 and graduates up to the first semester of 2019. A review was performed by analyzing data from the UnB statistical yearbook and the Sucupira report. Sociodemographic details were assessed through an electronic questionnaire, and the resulting data were analyzed using the SPSS software. Results The average age of a graduate on the date of graduation was 35 years, with 62.5% being male, 80.4% living in the federal district, 41.1% declaring themselves to be brown, and 39.3% having primary education in engineering. A total of 94.6% of the graduates were employed, and 41.1% received between 6 and 10 Brazilian reals per month as minimum wages. Conclusion Analysis of the graduate profile is essential for the self-assessment of graduate programs and for the establishment of more specific guidelines and actions. The relevance of the PPGEB in the midwest region thus verified that graduates were employed and retained in the federal district upon completion of their master’s degrees. | ||

The relevance of the PPGEB in the midwest region thus verified that graduates were employed and retained in the federal district upon completion of their master’s degrees.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Biomedical engineering impact</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Postgraduates</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Salary range</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Biomedical engineer</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Employment</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Labor market</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Gomes, Marília Miranda Forte</subfield><subfield code="0">(orcid)0000-0001-8584-9676</subfield><subfield code="4">aut</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">de Siqueira Rodrigues Fleury Rosa, Suélia</subfield><subfield code="0">(orcid)0000-0002-1247-9050</subfield><subfield code="4">aut</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Enthalten in</subfield><subfield code="t">Research on biomedical engineering</subfield><subfield code="d">[Cham] : Springer International Publishing, 2015</subfield><subfield code="g">38(2021), 1 vom: 03. Postgraduates of the biomedical engineering program at the University of Brasília, Faculty of Gama: who are they? |
abstract |
Purpose Knowledge of the profiles of graduates in the Graduate Program in Biomedical Engineering (PPGEB) at the University of Brasília (UnB) campus at Gama is crucial for promoting the expansion of the program. © Sociedade Brasileira de Engenharia Biomedica 2021 |
