Sample size considerations were rare for such agreement analyses in the past, but recently several proposals have been made depending on how agreement is to be assessed and the number of replicates to be used. We have summarized recent developments and recommendations in various situations including a distinction between method comparison and observer variability studies. These include current state-of-the-art analysis of and reporting guidelines for agreement studies. General recommendations close the paper. | ||

Sample size considerations were rare for such agreement analyses in the past, but recently several proposals have been made depending on how agreement is to be assessed and the number of replicates to be used. General recommendations close the paper.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Agreement</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Bland-Altman analysis</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Limits of Agreement</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Repeatability</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Reproducibility</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Sample size</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Pedersen, Andreas Kristian</subfield><subfield code="0">(orcid)0000-0001-5406-1675</subfield><subfield code="4">aut</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Debrabant, Birgit</subfield><subfield code="0">(orcid)0000-0002-1964-3204</subfield><subfield code="4">aut</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Halekoh, Ulrich</subfield><subfield code="0">(orcid)0000-0003-3679-8424</subfield><subfield code="4">aut</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Möller, Sören</subfield><subfield code="0">(orcid)0000-0003-0858-4269</subfield><subfield code="4">aut</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Enthalten in</subfield><subfield code="t">Journal of clinical monitoring and computing</subfield><subfield code="d">Dordrecht [u.a.] : Springer Science + Business Media B.V., 1985</subfield><subfield code="g">36(2022), 5 vom: 19. Sample size determination in method comparison and observer variability studies |
abstract |
Abstract The comparison of two quantitative measuring devices is often performed with the Limits of Agreement proposed by Bland and Altman in their seminal Lancet paper back in 1986. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature B.V. 2022 |
