Robust principal component analysis via weighted nuclear norm with modified second-order total variation regularization

520 | |a Abstract The traditional robust principal component analysis (RPCA) model aims to decompose the original matrix into low-rank and sparse components and uses the nuclear norm to describe the low-rank prior information of the natural image. In addition to low-rankness, it has been found in many recent studies that local smoothness is also crucial prior in low-level vision. In this paper, we propose a new RPCA model based on weight nuclear norm and modified second-order total variation regularization (WMSTV-RPCA for short), which exploits both the global low-rankness and local smoothness of the matrix. Extensive experimental results show, both qualitatively and quantitatively, that the proposed WMSTV-RPCA can more effectively remove noise, and model dynamic scenes compared with the competing methods. | ||

Abstract The traditional robust principal component analysis (RPCA) model aims to decompose the original matrix into low-rank and sparse components and uses the nuclear norm to describe the low-rank prior information of the natural image. Extensive experimental results show, both qualitatively and quantitatively, that the proposed WMSTV-RPCA can more effectively remove noise, and model dynamic scenes compared with the competing methods.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Low-rankness</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Local smoothness</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Weighted nuclear norm</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Modified second-order total variation</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">WMSTV-RPCA</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">ADMM</subfield><subfield code="7">(dpeaa)DE-He213</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Liu, Xinling</subfield><subfield code="4">aut</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Zhou, Min</subfield><subfield code="4">aut</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Wang, Jianjun</subfield><subfield code="4">aut</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="773" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Enthalten in</subfield><subfield code="t">The visual computer</subfield><subfield code="d">Berlin : Springer, 1985</subfield><subfield code="g">39(2023), 8 vom: 15. Robust principal component analysis via weighted nuclear norm with modified second-order total variation regularization |
abstract |
Abstract The traditional robust principal component analysis (RPCA) model aims to decompose the original matrix into low-rank and sparse components and uses the nuclear norm to describe the low-rank prior information of the natural image. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2023.
